Miatas are for losers, please make sure you take offense to that :P

I'd like to point out that this is not a wagon, like, at all.

I love S2000s....
But THAT thing is horrendous. Please park it in front of that train next time so it hopefully dies a fiery death.

Too bad honda didnt agree. :(

S2000 has a lot more personality!

S2000 is great. But Miata is the answer because it's not as pricy on the used market.

More S2000s for me then!

I approve of this in every way.
Don't cheap out, get a real FR sports car.

Blinded by that ugly thing that someone thought would be cool to turn into a giant big mouth bass, yes.
Blind in terms of liking "other cars", which I'm assuming you're referring to, not quite.

I could deal with the roof and flairs, but that front-end is just plain my-daughter-is-also-my-sister ugly.

I would love an S2k......but I'm pretty sure that if I managed to find one for 3k, like the miata I'm buying, it would not be in anywhere near as good of condition. So, for me, for now, the answer is still Miata.
![]() 01/27/2014 at 15:40 |

When my Dad was looking for a convertible, he preferred the S2K but for around town, the Miata was more fun. Just couldn't get the fun factor of the 9000 RPM red line going 25-35.

I agree...I love S2ks as well, but not this one.

If Honda actually made an S2k hatchback in that body style, I would be looking for one right now. I just can't get over the lack of practicality in either the S2k or Miata. Consider me a wagon/hatchback guy for life

Hey, practicality appeals to a large number of enthusiasts! That's perfectly fine. For me, practicality is not a necessary priority.

Helloooo snap oversteer!
I did catch it, but they like to do that. The Comptech supercharger did not help things. ^ Not my car.

The snap oversteer is deadly! It's why I like to give consistent, hearty dabs of throttle in the turns when playing in GT6. Can't wait to have this car in person and eventually give it Spoon's full N/A work on it and possibly give it an Amuse body kit.

The good:
Roof
Wheels*
Flares
The bad:
Wheel offset
Tire stretch
The ugly:
Front bumper

Would you be interested in my 15x8.5 -50 offset Bogart wheels I have for sale ?
no but seriously want to buy them ?
The bumper I agree with you plain Ugly .. I dont mind the offset and tire stretch too much .. I'm sure they still hold air .. it could be worse .

Matt Farah's newest Tuned video is titled "Miata is always the answer". Your argument is invalid.

clearly the joke went over your head
![]() 01/27/2014 at 16:50 |

Well, it goes back to what do you want to do with a car.
When it comes to suspension, wheels & tires I go for a combination of decent ride quality, improved grip & handling balance, and tires that clear the fenders. No riding on bump stops, no "they only really start to rub if I turn the wheel all the way."
Basically, I don't set out to create a look first and then try to make it work on the car.

that looks like houston. that looks quite a bit like an s2k i helped build. same bumper, like wheels, but they were black w/goldflake centers.

Oh honey...
The real answer is Morgan 3 Wheeler because the S2000 is just too pragmatic.

When the S2000 came out, I thought the Miata was dead for sure. But then Honda charged $35k versus $20k for the Miata. so, find me a solid, used S2000 for under $5k and you have a point.

Z3/Z4 coupe or Porsche 996/997/991? So yes, but not in either the Miata or S2000's price range.
My point was why not have a wagon/hatchback and a Miata? NA Miatas can be had in decent shape with decent mileage for around $2,500 if you are patient, and at that price, the depreciation is low enough that you could flip it without losing much/anything if it didn't work out...
